Chiron 

Chiron -- The Archetype of "The Wounded Healer", with no agreed upon sign rulership, but strong association with the energies of Virgo and Sagittarius. An asteroid discovered in 1972, Chiron has galloped its way into the birth charts created by many modern astrologers. It symbolizes the wounded healer in each of us, relating to an area of pain and psychological scars which require resolution. Like the mythical centaur for whom it is named, the wound can never be healed. However, its resolution (making peace with the wound) results in a deeper understanding and compassion for those who suffer in this way, and set the stage for the healer in you to do his / her work.
