Earth 

Earth -- The Archetype of "The Practical Mother or Provider of Physical Sustenance", with no agreed upon rulership, but strong association with the energy of Virgo. The Earth is always found exactly opposite the Sun by sign, degree and minute, in the birth chart, creating a polarity or broad spectrum, between two opposing signs. In order to evolve and grow into an ever greater potential (The Sun), we must first acknowledge our basic physical needs for well-being, like sustenance, shelter, and adaptability to ever changing Earth conditions. Earth symbolizes our need to learn about our own unique physical systems in order to understand what we need to maintain optimal balance (health) in life. It also represents our capacity to honor those needs in order to be self-sufficient and well-balanced individuals, capable of serving the planet which so perfectly supports us.
