Neptune 

Neptune -- The Archetype of "The Mystic / The Seeker of Redemption / The Escapist", ruler of the sign Pisces. Neptune represents that character within us who yearns for (re)connection to something greater than that which dwells within the confines of the known and real. Each of us, in some way, seeks to understand his or her relationship with the "larger scheme of things". For some, like past and present mystics and spiritual leaders on the planet, this "spiritual pursuit" becomes a conscious and significant part of the life path. But for the majority of us, it unfolds in consciousness over time through a series of experiences and revelations which ultimately produce an understanding of what we believe and how we live according to those beliefs. Neptune represents the process of "Coming to know God / Goddess" each in our own way. That process includes how we deal with the suffering inherent in the feeling of not being connected (how we escape or deal with the pain of separateness and isolation), as well as how we define spiritual responsibility based upon what we come to believe (live with integrity according to our spiritual principles and service to humanity). As with all of the outer planets, this character Neptune is subject to the waves and rhythms of collective forces which move through time and generations, and requires personal awareness and conscious respect for healthy integration within the individual psyche.
